Today Future in Football took on SGM in the league at home, previously in the season we drew 2-2 against them so knew today was going to be tight.

Game started very well for FIF yet again controlling the game with their possession, shape was extremely good and the first half performance was probably the best they have played to date.

FiF created plenty of chances but couldn't execute them, the defence was hardly ever tested but did dictate the play with the two centre backs and full backs starting all the attacks.

The scholars created yet more chances but nothing ended up in the back of the net, until Conor Tomkins went on a fantastic run and was bought down in the penalty area gaining a penalty for Future in Football.

Matt Nunn has been on penalties all season so stepped up and finished very well. 1-0 was the score at half time, but the performance was superb, Joe, Corey & Matt Porter in the midfield were excellent in possession along with the back 4 allowing the possession to be easy due to their shape. The forward 3 pinned the opposition back and created lots of space for the midfield 3 to play.

Second half started and it was a similar story throughout, SGM had a couple of half chances but nothing too threatening and the possession continued for Future in Football.

Still lots of chances created but none taken in the end the game should of been won by more but the performance was solid and very comfortable.
