MATCH REPORT VS PALMERS

Future in Football Academy went to top of the league Palmers today and were prepared for a tough encounter.

The game started with one player dropping out before kick off due to injury but the players went out with the game plan.

game started fairly slow from both sides due to the conditions and looked like both were cancelling each other out, until Palmers forward broke free to score and take the lead. shortly after a very good strike from the edge of the box put them 2-0 up with chances created and the ball moved well when in possession FIF scholars looked to get back on track when the ball was deflected after a clearance from our Keeper and put into the net from a waiting forward, 3-0 at half time. During the first half Corey W and Matt P both came off with injuries that would end their game also.

Future in football players came in at half time and the shape was changed to get back into the game, straight from kick off the players responded with an outstanding pass from our Midfielder Conor F to set Matt V through to finish extremely well to pull one back 3-1.

Minutes after palmers broke free to finish well and make it 4-1, and that was going to be the running theme of the second half every time FIF academy got a goal back Palmers would go and punish straight away.

That happened exactly after yet again another fantastic run from the impressive Matt V who finished well to make it 4-2 Palmers went and extended the lead to 5-2.

Then a lead started to build and the wind was knocked out the sails of the FIF Academy players and palmers went 7-2 up.

The players didn't give in with their effort levels and looked to get some goals back and it came from an incredible strike from Cain T with his left foot outside the box a good 30 yards out.

But Palmers came back once again to score straight after FIF had done and made it 8-3, Full time went and a very strange game came to an end.

Fantastic performances from Conor T at left back who didn't stop, Matt V who scored two great goals and consistently ran the entire game it was difficult to give MOM between the two.
